Often their contracting organisation will assist participants in finding accommodation. Depending on the position and its duties, applicants may be required to be proficient in Japanese language. Other positions require successful applicants to make an effort to study or continue studying the Japanese language prior to and after arriving in Japan. For logistical reasons, trade between the UK and other asian countries has not expanded at the same rate as that between Japan and asia. I personally think these statistics are showing potential opportunity that Japan can be a "hub" to Asia and the Pan Pacific region when the UK expands its business. This is one reason why learning Japanese language provides an advantage. The UK as a gateway to whole EU from JapanIn the field of manufacturing, Japanese investment in the EU accounts for about 40% of total value. As a reflection, many Japanese companies are operating their business in the UK and those branches are targetting the whole EU, not only the UK. These days mainstream business tends to hire local residents rather than send their workers from their original location. This shows that there are many opportunities and advantages, even in the UK, if you are a good communicator in Japanese language.
